I have a fourth generation iPod touch that I have currently lost or misplaced. I do not have the "Find my iPod" app. Since I own the iPod, I have definitely connected it to this Wifi. Does anybody know the next steps I need to take in order to relocate my iPod?
Just forgot to mention this, I have already tried to access it via iCloud. My iPod keeps coming up as offline.

No app on the iPod is required.
- If you previously turned on FIndMyiPod on the iPod in Settings>iCloud and wifi is on and connected, on a computer browser go to iCloud: Find My iPhone, sign in and go to FIndMyiPhone. If the iPod has been restored it will never show up or conbtinue to show off-line.
- You can also wipe/erase the iPod and have the iPod play a sound via iCloud.
- If not shown, then you will have to use the old fashioned way, like if you lost a wallet or purse.
- Change the passwords for all accounts used on the iPod and report to police
- There is no way to prevent someone from restoring the iPod (it erases it) using it unless you had iOS 7 on the device. With iOS 7, one has to enter the Apple ID and password to restore the device.

I have misplaced it in my house buddy. I do not think contacting the police is the wisest course lol. I do not believe I turned on the "Find my iPhone" in Settings. I attempted to play the sound but it says it is offline and needs to connect to wifi. I found this awkward since I have connected to wifi in my house multiple times.
Since it says off-line all you can do is look for it like a watch
I have a similar issue with one of the 4G iPods of my daughters. The strange thing is that "Find my iPhone" reports the iPod as Offline, but in iTunes I can still make a back-up and manage the iPod. Apparently it still has energy and it still is connected to the Wifi here at home. However ... I cannot make it play a sound, nor can I find it the old-fashioned way. It's a mystery to me ..

Lol I found my iPod touch but now I am having the same problem with the iPad. Now that I do have my iPod, what steps do I need to take to make sure nothing like this happens again?
Go to Settings>iCloud and turn FindMyiPod on.
However, note that the iPOd has to be connect to the internet for FIndMyiPod to work.
