Hello ratish4no1,

It sounds like you updated your phone and your Dictionary does not seem to be functioning correctly. I would start by quitting all the running apps on the phone:

iOS: Force an app to close

http://support.apple.com/kb/ht5137

Double-click the Home button.

Swipe left or right until you have located the app you wish to close.

Swipe the app up to close it.

When you have done that and restart the phone and test the Dictionary again:

iOS: Turning off and on (restarting) and resetting

Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.

All the very best,

Thanks for the update. Since quitting the apps and restarting the device didn't work, then the next thing you should do is backup the iPhone to your iTunes library on your computer:

iOS: How to back up and restore your content

And restore it from your backup with this article, so that the iOS can be reinstalled and re test the issue. If it still is not resolved, then restore your phone with the below article again, but this time set it up as a New Device and test it out one more time to help isolate your backed up data.

Use iTunes to restore your iOS device to factory settings
