Blank Screen

I was just trying to text someone back and my screen was restarting, like the apple symbol came up. Then after several seconds, it went blank, but the screen wasn't black but a bit lightened but blank. It keeps doing it even if I push the home button and power button at the same time till it turns back on. Then it goes blank again. This is over and over. Any ideas?
