How sync and transfer files Android and Mac?

I'm desperately looking for a way to make my Android phone and Mac connect. Both as a file browser, file transfer and sync (contacts, calendar) gadget.

I used to have the paid pro version of SyncMate from Eltima software, but their policies makes me puke. I.e. I have worn out three Macs the past few years and must pay for a new license to make it work on the one I have now. Not to mention their general arrogance when replying to mails as if I'm a crook trying to get their app for free.

Instead of SyncMate, I've started using AirDroid which is an amazing app, and free. Problem is that I always get "error" when e.g. trying to upload images from the Mac to the Android phone.

So: Are there any other ways to easily sync and transfer files between Mac and Android via WiFi?

(In my case, I have Mac 10.6.8 and Android 4.3)

Cheers,

Dan
