iTunes freezes when trying to restore iPhone 4

So lately I've been having problems with my iTunes.

Recently whenever i tried to sync my iPhone with it, it stays on "Waiting for sync to start" until i force close the program.

Since that was a issue, i Decided to try restoring my iPhone, but whenever i attempted to restore it, the program stopped responding.

No errors, no iTunes has stopped working, nothing. It becomes frozen until i have to force close it with Task Manager.

So is there anyway i can fix this because i don't want to do a system restore as i recently got my computer back from the shop after having issues with it that resorted in wiping the hard drive clean.

Welcome to Apple Support Communities.

It sounds like iTunes stops responding when you try to update or restore your iPhone. Take a look at the article below and see if there is a Layered Service Provider issue on your PC.

Hello Jason,

I've looked at the possible conflicts and checked to see if there was a conflict in Winsock Providers, but there wasn't any other publisher besides the Bonjour Provider from Apple.
