Mac HD in aperture library....help

I Had some photos saved to my desktop. I selected them to move them into a folder in the aperture library but forgot about the Mac HD icon, which was selected as well

As a result I copied the entire hard drive into the library. This has rendered it unworkable. I tried to delete the HD copy from the library, but I run out of application memory trying.

Any solutions?
