How to keep earbuds from falling out?

I got these earpuds with my iPhone 5s But I never really used them because they were a bit uncomfortable and kept falling out my ears. But I'm going on vacation soon and I don't want to lug around my headphones And i was thinking of using my earbuds instead (because of their portability) I'll be sitting in an airplane for 12 hours And planning to watch movies, so what can I do to keep my earbuds in my ears without constantly holding them in.

I found the duct tape response obnoxious enough to chime in. The purpose of these boards is to help one another. Dishing and non-answers are absolutely no help.

The "new" ear buds provided by Apple with iPhones, iPods et al, are extremely wonderful to listen through but, alas, quite painful (for me) to use. The edges catch the inside of my ear and scrape them a bit and they fall out constantly which makes me push them in repeatedly thereby exacerbating the scraping.

But I found a solution that works VERY well. I had a collection of scratch guards in a drawer and it turns out the small, thin, green felt ones were EXCELLENT for providing a buffer for the ear AND making them stay.

You can find them at Amazon and Ebay under a number of names. I thought "Green Felt Dots" would work best under a search.

Here is a link to one type: http://www.ebay.com/itm/like/250947631365?lpid=82&chn=ps but be advised there are quite a few.

If you want to see them first, I recommend Michaels, Walmart, Walgreen or possibly CVS.

And yes, I do have blue tooth over the ear pads that work as well as the ear buds which absolutely solved that problem.

Best,

Nathan

I know this is years later...but was having the same problem and googled my way to this thread. I forgot my headphones at work and needed something temporary and JUST after reading some of these snarky comments the quick-fix came to me. JUST REVERSE AND FLIP THEM. So right goes in left upside down (left in right upside down) and then pull the cord over your ear. Voila! Good for walking around at least. Can't vouch for running.

I agree. Have you ever noticed that people who have to back up their answers with “its not rocket science “ usually have a lower than the normal level of intelligence? (Hence , the back up to their reply, that helps lift their low self esteem)?

Your ability to determine a person's IQ and emotional well-being from nine words is beyond astounding. I am in awe.

You had to come in 4 months after this thread started to make that comment? Think about it for a moment, the earbuds have no user changeable parts, so how could anyone make a difference in how they fit into an individual's ear? They are a common size, and people do not all have the same size ear. Do you have a valid answer to the OP's question?

Buy a pair that suit your needs. It's common sense. I am allergic to green felt so I find your suggestion somewhat discriminatory.

I just found out how to secure the earbuds. It's kind of unique, but I'm not sure if it's fall proof. But it does work while sitting and listening to music or on your laptop, etc. Put the earbuds in from the back of your head. Does that make sense? Instead of the normal way, take the right ear bud and insert it from behind your ear, rather than in front, somehow this helps secure the left too. Since doing this, they never fall, even if I shake my head around. Not sure about jogging though.
