Nov 18, 2014 2:55 PM in response to petermac87by Murigius,The ear size reduction operation seems a bit extreme, but if the sweatband doesn't work, I might look into it

Who's OP? The original question was posted by Cottoncandy21 and James Ward answered it pretty well.
"OP" is short of Original Poster, i.e. Cottoncandy21.

Feb 2, 2015 9:12 AM in response to Cottoncandy21by ndata,I found the duct tape response obnoxious enough to chime in. The purpose of these boards is to help one another. Dishing and non-answers are absolutely no help.
The "new" ear buds provided by Apple with iPhones, iPods et al, are extremely wonderful to listen through but, alas, quite painful (for me) to use. The edges catch the inside of my ear and scrape them a bit and they fall out constantly which makes me push them in repeatedly thereby exacerbating the scraping.
But I found a solution that works VERY well. I had a collection of scratch guards in a drawer and it turns out the small, thin, green felt ones were EXCELLENT for providing a buffer for the ear AND making them stay.
You can find them at Amazon and Ebay under a number of names. I thought "Green Felt Dots" would work best under a search.
Here is a link to one type: http://www.ebay.com/itm/like/250947631365?lpid=82&chn=ps but be advised there are quite a few.
If you want to see them first, I recommend Michaels, Walmart, Walgreen or possibly CVS.
And yes, I do have blue tooth over the ear pads that work as well as the ear buds which absolutely solved that problem.
Best,
Nathan

Buy a pair that suit your needs. It's common sense. I am allergic to green felt so I find your suggestion somewhat discriminatory.

Feb 3, 2015 10:18 AM in response to pogsterby wegras,Duct tape might help hold the brain in
Surprised no-one suggested buying a a set of headphones that come with different size " bud tips" that size the earbuds to ear sizes
that is if whiners are actually looking for a solution

Feb 3, 2015 10:36 AM in response to wegrasby pogster,Yeah those with interchangeable tips can work well. I have a pair of earbuds that came with 3 sets of different sizes made of silicone. They work well.

Mar 20, 2015 9:05 AM in response to Cottoncandy21by Jameshilldesign,I just found out how to secure the earbuds. It's kind of unique, but I'm not sure if it's fall proof. But it does work while sitting and listening to music or on your laptop, etc. Put the earbuds in from the back of your head. Does that make sense? Instead of the normal way, take the right ear bud and insert it from behind your ear, rather than in front, somehow this helps secure the left too. Since doing this, they never fall, even if I shake my head around. Not sure about jogging though.

Mar 26, 2015 10:42 AM in response to Cottoncandy21by ALeon9903,I know it's been awhile since you posted. I had the same problem with my ear buds. That is until I found earhoox. They are the best thing ever! I use them when I run, and have no problem with the ear buds falling out. I highly recommend them. Here's the link: http://earhoox.com

Apr 5, 2015 3:57 AM in response to Cottoncandy21by CT_PBW,I have tiny ear canals and have used these forever. Love them and no pain at all. http://earbudi.com/EARBUDi/EARBUDi.html Be sure to order correct one for your phone as the older ear buds are not the same as the newer ear buds. Come in fun colors as well.
