ios 7.1.2

ive installed the update overnight and now my ipad is telling me to connect to itunes and itunes says its detecting an ipad in recovery and it needs restoring BUT im scared that my photos wont be in my cloud, i darent press the restore button....i dont want to lose 2 and a half yrs of photos through no fault of my own....help!!!
