After merging libraries in Aperture 3.5.1 can you trash the secondary library if the files were managed in that library?

After merging libraries in Aperture 3.5.1 can you trash the secondary library if the files were managed in that library?
If the second library is managed, all photos should have been imported as managed. But check the merged library thoroughly and make a consistency check, for example, check the numbers of photos in the "Photos" view. In earlier Aperture versions occasionally photos imported from PhotoStream have been missing. I'd back up the imported library before deleting it.
