messenger is synced to my imac i would like to delete it, do you know how?

Accounts in Messages may be disabled using the steps in the following article -

Messages (Mavericks): Enable or disable an account

You can also delete an account completely from Messages on your computer by selecting the account in the list in the same area and then clicking the “-“ button in the lower left.
