I was playing around with my new waterproof iPhone case in the pool. I take my iPhone out of the water to see that the charge port cover was open. Everything works fine with my iPhone, except that it won't turn off, and it won't sync to my computer. I thought it was the cord, so I tried a different cord, which had no difference at all. A little help?

I checked the LCI indicators, and none of them were activated. My iPhone is powered down, and I'm afraid to turn it back on in case it won't turn off again. If the LCI indicators aren't active, then why won't my device work properly?
if the water did not get near to the lci then they would not be activated
they are meant to indicate if a device was submerged not if water got into the device somehow
otherwise they would have to place them everywhere there is a hole like speakers and such
Good news! The problem was resolved. I just had my iPhone dry out for a little less than a day.
