base station and modem

I have to apple extreme base stations that provides wireless service to my home. I have it set up just the way I like it. My cable provider just gave me a new modem and wants the old modem back, even though it seems to be working fine.

My question is, when I go through the process of switching modems, obviously my base stations will be disconnected from my network signal for a time. When the new modem fires up and begins working, will the base stations start working again as well, or do I need to do anything to set them up again with the new modem?
