iMovie fails to update

Question

Back up all data.Triple-click anywhere in the line below on this page to select it:~/Library/Caches/storeagentRight-click or control-click the line and select          Services ▹ Reveal in Finder (or just Reveal)from the contextual menu.* A folder should open with an item selected. Quit the application if it&#x27;s running. Move the selected item to the Trash. Log out or restart the computer and test.*If you don&#x27;t see the contextual menu item, copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination  command-C. In the Finder, select          Go ▹ Go to Folder...from the menu bar and paste into the box that opens by pressing command-V. You won&#x27;t see what you pasted because a line break is included. Press return.

Launch the Console application in any of the following ways:☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Console in the icon grid.The title of the Console window should be All Messages. If it isn&#x27;t, select          SYSTEM LOG QUERIES ▹ All Messagesfrom the log list on the left. If you don&#x27;t see that list, select          View ▹ Show Log Listfrom the menu bar at the top of the screen.Click the Clear Display icon in the toolbar. Then try the action that you&#x27;re having trouble with again. Select any messages that appear in the Console window. Copy them to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C. Paste into a reply to this message by pressing command-V.The log contains a vast amount of information, almost all of which is irrelevant to solving any particular problem. When posting a log extract, be selective. Thanks for the reply but the error doesn&#x27;t create any log entry in the console, take a look to the screenshot: the app store show the error but in the console nothing is logged!

Please read this whole message before doing anything.This procedure is a test, not a solution. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.Step 1The purpose of this step is to determine whether the problem is localized to your user account.Enable guest logins* and log in as Guest. Don&#x27;t use the Safari-only “Guest User” login created by “Find My Mac.”While logged in as Guest, you won’t have access to any of your documents or settings. Applications will behave as if you were running them for the first time. Don’t be alarmed by this behavior; it’s normal. If you need any passwords or other personal data in order to complete the test, memorize, print, or write them down before you begin.Test while logged in as Guest. Same problem?After testing, log out of the guest account and, in your own account, disable it if you wish. Any files you created in the guest account will be deleted automatically when you log out of it.*Note: If you’ve activated “Find My Mac” or FileVault, then you can’t enable the Guest account. The “Guest User” login created by “Find My Mac” is not the same. Create a new account in which to test, and delete it, including its home folder, after testing.Step 2The purpose of this step is to determine whether the problem is caused by third-party system modifications that load automatically at startup or login, by a peripheral device, by a font conflict, or by corruption of the file system or of certain system caches. Step 1:I have create a "Test" account because I have the find my mac and "Guest User" activated. When I tried to update update iMovie it asked me to log in with an apple account, so I just logged in with this account but then it had the same problem / error.Step 2:I have disconnected everything and booted is safe mode but the problem was the same.

You can skip this step if you don&#x27;t care about the data that hasn&#x27;t been backed up.Reinstall the OS.* Your data should be unaffected unless something goes wrong. If the system was upgraded from an older version of OS X, you may need the Apple ID and password you used.If you use FileVault 2, then before running the Installer you must launch Disk Utility and select the icon of the FileVault startup volume ("Macintosh HD," unless you gave it a different name.) It will be nested below another icon with the same name. Click the Unlock button in the toolbar and enter your login password when prompted. Then quit Disk Utility to be returned to the main Recovery screen.If you installed the Java runtime distributed by Apple and still need it, you&#x27;ll have to reinstall it. The same goes for Xcode. Thanks but I will not reinstall the OS, I can live also with the iMovie update problem, at the end it&#x27;s only annoying to see, that there is always one update available, anyway I don&#x27;t use it.
