I bought a used iPhone 4 and when trying to get it set up, another phone number is showing up. How can I get the number off of the phone so I can sell it?
You can set it up as new device, without using a backup afterwards.
How to back up your data and set up as a new device
If the device iOS running iOS7, it might still have the Activation Lock set up, which you need to remove from the previous owner account, in order to set up and use the phone again:
