PROBLEMS WITH SYSTEM PREFERENCES

I recently reinstalled LION os 10.7.5

my system preferences launches and then immediately closes.

I am unable to access it period.

WHY???

I would try deleting System Preferences plist per these instructions:

https://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-4301

If no success, then I would re-install the OSX.
