10.9.4 no folder background change, its greyed out since I updated. both computers i can't change the folder back ground color

I figured it out. Under the folder actions/arange by: I changed to NONE and this allowed me to change the background color. It appeared after I did the update the Arange BY was changed.
I personally don't care for the white backround and a light grey is easier on the eyes. I wish that the background color be change dglobally for all folders no matter what the arange would be. Te ac only allows this on folders with icons.
