Is the Airport wireless?

I have a wireless router that is plugged into my modem my internet provider gave me, and I want to wirelessly print with the airport but I have one problem. The router I'm using is in a different room than my printer so I was wondering if The airport can use the wifi signal my router provides to existent the wifi signal and let me print without having to plug the Ethernet cord into the airport from my wireless router.
