AirPort Express can only wirelessly "extend" a network that has been produced by another Apple router. Is the "main" router that provides your network also an Apple router?
If yes, which model?
It might be possible to configure the Express to "join" a wireless network, which would enable the Ethernet port, but this setting does not allow the Express to provide more wireless coverage, as it does when it "extends".
Thanks Bob
I was using an old AirPort Extreme base station but then Sky sent a wireless router through so have not been using it I might have to plug the airport base station into sky's router but just tried that and I think the power supply is now broke :-(
Bob
When you say an airport express can only extend the network supplied by another apple router does this have to be an airport extreme or can it be another express?
Thanks
