Attempting to add a wireless printer to my systems preferences on new mac air. Each keystroke just makes bonging sound and isn't allowing me to type in printer info. I'm clicking the + button and "Name" and "Kind" show up - I can't type anything on the page. Help!

Page/dialogue box will not let me type in printer info on "Add Printer" on my Mac Air - I do not get any drop down menu there either...What am I doing wrong in System Preferences?
