iphone 4s gone into recovery mode on nwe iso 7.1.2 update !

Right im well hacked off yet another lash up update , my daughter tried to update her 4s and now the thing is bricked ! i have tried to get it in to the other mode but to no avail . Please can some one give me some ideas this is my eldest phone she needs it for collage , she only has partial backups so we dont want to loose the images saved !any help gratefully received
