Today I got an unformatted DVD-R disk stuck in my 2010 Mac Mini and nothing I do will eject the disk. I'm using OS X Mavericks 10.9.4. I tried F12, command - E without results.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Restart while holding down the mouse button (after startup tone). Hold until the disk ejects.
Did I miss something, Barney-15E? I tried your exact suggestion as well as several similar combinations (complete shutdown and power off, then start-up, etc. Nothing worked, the disk did not eject.
Any other Ideas?

Sometimes there is a little pin-hole on the front of the drive. If it has one, straighten a paperclip and push it into the hole. You'll feel a little resistance, but it should pop the disk out manually. However, there doesn't appear to be that hole on the pictures I've found.
Other than that, I have no idea.

I must own up to my fiasco re: disk stuck in my Mac Mini. I found the disk sitting on top of several other disks. My Mini was free of stray disks and ready to use. Thanks for trying to help me. Old age memory loss (79 years and counting) strikes when you least expect it!
