my macbook pro is moving very slow and it gets hot when I'm charging it

Can anyone tell me what to do when my macbook pro moves slow and when I charge it seems to be hotter than usual. I bought this computer in 2009 and has never given me any problems but some reason it is acting very slow with the wheel always turning.
