Bluetooth audio and wifi interference

I recently bought a Vizio S3821 soundbar and have been attempting to play my iTunes (11.2.2) music through the Bluetooth capabilities. I am running OS X 10.9.4. After a few nights of torment, I have realized that whenever I try to play music through the Bluetooth while the Wi-Fi is connected, the music comes through choppy and is incomprehensible. However, as soon as I disconnect the Wi-Fi, the music comes through clearly. I guess this could be considered a solution to the problem, but I'd really like to be able to do both. Any suggestions as to how to get around this issue? Any help is appreciated.
