Adding passes to passbook

I am trying to add a boarding pass I received in my mail to passbook. There are instructions in the help section of mail and online, however it is very poor. It tells me to simply click button and click add to passbook. I don't see 'button' anywhere nor do I see anything passbook related in any of the items in the menu's and menu bar. Am I blind or is Apple lying? I am using Macbook Pro 10.9.4 and iPhone 5 7.1.2, iCloud activated and logged in.
