I have a mac book pro OS X version 10.9.3
I have had it for a year and have run it on the same wifi but now I cant connect and next to the wifi is a yellow light and beneath it says that there is no ip address.
All other devices in the house still work on this wifi except for my mac book
Any assistance is much appreciated.
Try opening Airport Utility (AU) on a device that connects to the Internet within range of your wireless network. Check which device is generating a yellow light and reset it, with a ball point pen and AU. Run the diagnostics on your mac book pro (system preferences/network) and reset the IP settings.

Do you mean to say your MBPro was trying to connect to a different network, other than your primary one? If so, it may because you need to clean up the Preferred Networks list.
If that's not the case then ajglass suggestion for doing a soft reset on the router would help.
Let us know what happens.
The yellow light indicates no internet connection.
Turn off/unplug router
same to modem
now restart modem. once it shows all lights lit and internet access...
plug in router
