How long should my earphones be for my iPad 2?

I'm getting new earphones but i want to know how long it should be?

As long as they need to be.

I would suggest 2-3 feet in length. You don't want to be tethered by 12 inches, you need at least 24, however 48 inches starts to be too much cord to keep track of. And I really dont' recommend the really long ones, simply because you'll have the temptation to set the iPad down and reach over to get something or get up to get something with your earbuds in....and stand a good chance of inadvertently dragging your iPad off the table and sending it crashing to the floor.
