No, you only need a prong adapter for the Irish sockets. Apple's charges are universal, and can automatically change from 220 to 120 by themselves. Input is rated from 100v to 240v for Apple charges.
Just get a plug pin to outlet adapter...from the US try places like MicroCenter, Frye's, Radio Schack to name a few. Also, many international airports have shops that sell plug adapters. You can also try the Apple World Traveler Kit for the chargers that have the removable "duck bill" plugs, MB974ZM/B from the Apple store.

Just go for a 'good' name...don't get some cheap no name off amazon. You're dealing with electricity and you don't want to take the risk of some poorly manufactured adapter fritzing your iPad.

The warning in one post, above, about not buying cheap is probably good. Plus there are 'travel adapter kits' in case you go to other countries in mainland Europe. And maybe now some have USB ports, etc. -- Enjoy your trip.
