unable to connect to airport extreme?

Hello. Recently i have changed my modem so that it connects directly to my airport extreme. We had recently bought it and are now experiencing problems connecting to the router. It seems that only our MacBooks can connect to the router but our other apple devices (iPad, iPhone and iPod) could not connect. we were wondering if anybody other than us was experiencing a problem with this and knew how to fix this?
