Freeze!

I have a 2006 Mac Book Pro 15' that has been running like a dream up until this latest software update. It started running much slower and then started freezing. My first thought was it was the battery so I removed it and let it sit over night. Turned it on with just the power cable in and has been working fine. Still slower than before though. Bought a new battery put it in and charged it all night long. Turned it on in the morning and boom froze again on me. Took the battery out and it is working just fine again. What can cause this?

There are two of those when I check memory on my info about the computer, so I assume there is 2 GB but I don't know how to check how much is left.

Based on the information that you have provided, I believe that you have a 15" mid/late 2007 MBP.

Open System Information application and post the following from your MBP:

They will reset some functions of the OSX that may be corrupt and possibly causing problems. Each link should have an explanation as well as instructions. Please do so. It cannot do any harm to your MBP.

When you printed the above information, did you have the battery installed?

Where did you purchase the new battery? From Apple or a a reseller? Is it an Apple battery or a third party battery?

Ciao.
