My Ipod's touch screen has been glitchy

So my iPod's touch screen is being really weird and annoying. I would be in the middle of typing something and it would just randomly not work, or I would be trying to scroll down my social networking apps and it would randomly stop working and I would have to hit the power button and try to unlock the lock-screen or try using the onscreen homebutton and if it didn't work I would have to try again and it usually takes 6 tries at most and only 2 tries if I'm lucky. I don't have a crack on my screen I only have a tiny one near the homebutton and when I got that my iPod was working normal it literally effected nothing when I cracked it so it's not like that could've been the cause, It just randomly started glitching and its becoming harder and harder to deal with so if anyone knows a way to fix it please let me know and if I need to go to a shop to get it repaired I will I just wanted to see if it was an easy fix or not before taking it to a shop and then they only take 5 minutes on it.

Try the standard fixes:

- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost

Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at

least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.

- Reset all settings

Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.

All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.

- Restore from backup. See:

iOS: Back up and restore your iOS device with iCloud or iTunes

- Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.

If still problem, make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.
