migrating 2006 mac to 2013 imac

What would be the best way for me to migrate from a 2006 Mac tower to the new 27" iMac?

2006 system:

Mac os x: 10.6.8

processor 8gb 667 MHz DDR2 FB-DIMM

model identifier: MacPro1,1

Processor name: Dual-core Intel Zeon

Processor speed: 3ghz

number of processors: 2

Total number of Cores: 4

L2 Cache (per processor): 4MB

Memory: 8gb

Bus speed: 1.33 ghz

Boot rom version: MP11.005C.B08

What cable(s) would be required?

I am looking for the smoothest way to do this.

thanks

Got a Time Machine Backup? If not, what method will you be using for Backups going forward?

How are you connecting to the Internet?

Your new machine seems to have these ports:

  • SDXC card slot
  • Four USB 3 ports (compatible with USB 2)
  • Two Thunderbolt ports
  • Mini DisplayPort output with support for DVI, VGA, and dual-link DVI (adapters sold separately)
  • 10/100/1000BASE-T Gigabit Ethernet (RJ-45 connector)
  • Kensington lock slot
