Here is some info from the Apple data base
Wi-Fi: How to troubleshoot Wi-Fi connectivity
iOS and OS X: Recommended settings for Wi-Fi routers and access points
Solutions for connecting to the Internet, setting up a small network, and troubleshooting
OS X Mountain Lion: Resolve IP address conflicts
Also is there metal near/around the router, tht can cause issues with radio waves, you may want to try a different location for the router.
the problem is not the router because it works fine on other computers and it works when I'm in the same room as it but my computer used to pick up all the wifi networks of my neighbors but now it does not so it has to be a problem with my computer
You can take it to an Apple Genius Bar for a free diagnosis, possibly there is an issue with the card. Make an appointment first.
