My Mac is making an intermittent Beep. It seems to stop when I move mouse to Apple

But the beeping stops when you move the mouse cursor to the apple at the end of the menu bar? If this is a Bluetooth mouse, have you checked the batteries, System Preferences > Mouse and batteries in the lower left of the window?
Yes, the mouse battery is OK. However, I think(!) I have found the problem -and, I hope, the solution. I had turned on the Time machine, with a view to doing a backup. At present, i don't have a backup disc, and i think the Time machine was signalling frustration!
I have turned the Time machine off, and this seems to have cured the noise.
I had, by the way, checked the hard disc - it is OK.
That sounds like a very real possibility, hope it continues to behave for you.
