Pages not entering time when choosing insert>date and time

I'm using Pages 5.2 and when I open a text document and choose Date and Time from the insert menu only the date is entered. I want the time as well since I'm keeping an activity log.

click on the date in the Text and choose the format you want.

Thanks, Peter. Is there a way to set any one of the variations as default for a document or application wide? I can find none.

In my document which is an activity log, having to select the format at each entry is still drudgery and should be automated.

Perhaps I should see whether a Numbers spreadsheet can be formatted to do what I need.

Not that I know of.

Pages 5.2 is very much a work in (slow) progress.
