Thank you so much for the info. To answer your questions, number 1. It's on high8 tape, the original is from 8 mm film from 1960. 2.The software is Apple Mac Book Pro. 3.The connection source is Mac OS7. 4. The Connection is firewire 9 pin. I will be using final cut Express.

The time code will be present once the video has been imported, but to do that you need to use an analogue to digital converter such as, for example, the ADVC110.
As you will be using Final Cut Express and not iMovie, you should post in the FCP forum.
