need to update apps, can't access with old cancelled username, won't let me sign-in with new Apple ID

I changed email provider and managed to get the new e-mail address as my Apple ID or so I thought. My computer is now recognizing the new e-mail if I type it in directly. Otherwise, it's asking for the password for the old e-mail which no longer exists. Also, I can't update any apps on desktop, iphone and ipad because it's asking for password to old e-mail.
