Could you please tell if I should have to press the button at the back of my MAC mini to wake it up. I thought that your mouse was supposed to be able to wake it up.
The back button will force a Restart.
Hitting any keyboard key or moving the mouse should wake your Mac.
If it doesn't you may have a problem. Is this a one off or is it repeatedly failing to wake from sleep?
Dead batteries perhaps in your mouse/keyboard?

Thanks for sending me the information, Peter. I was actually doing it wrong. My mouse does not wake it up but if a press a key on my keyboard it does. I am new to MAC so slowly getting the hand of it.
If you have your Mac Mini in sleep mode(Which I always do) It will wake your Mac Mini up
using the three of them.
You mentioned batteries they are a pain in the backside.
I have went back to using a wired keyboard,but the mouse I use a Targus BlueTooth Mouse.
I wouldn`t trust bluetooth at all. I am sick of seeing lost connection.
Just quickly depressing the Power button will awaken a sleeping Mac as well as using the keyboard or clicking a mouse/trackpad.
Pressing and holding Power button will shutdown the Mac

What type of mouse do you have? Yo have to press a button on the mouse to wake it.
When your computer is asleep you can use your mouse or keybaord
to wake your computer up.
It will work if you press the back button,but has the guy told you it
will do a full Restart,and you should not have to do that.
When waking up a Mac mini, should I have to press the button at the back or should my mouse be able wake it up? The operating version is OS X10.9.4.
