ios 7.1.2 update problems

After the latest 7.1.2 update my iphone 5S does not play my ringtones (despite them being checked in contact info), does not address battery problems, and has duplicated my 500 contacts which I have set to display last, first names. Now I have that plus first, last names. I have checked my address book on my MacBook Pro and it is correct. I have synced at least six times to no avail. AND, it has installed ALL of my iTunes songs despite having indicated to only sync selected/checked songs. These bugs have doubled my GBs usage. Also, the new software update for the MacBook has created some issues in the first half-hour: iTunes unexpectedly quit (for no apparent reason), mail is not downloading. I have restarted both the phone and the macbook - however; no resolution.
