Will gps still function properly while I'm on a phone call?

There is this new feature in the fitbit app where it will follow my gps to show how far and pace and what not when walking/ running. Usually when heading out for physical activity I am on a phone call though. Will this gps feature still work or does being on a phone call interfere somehow?

GPS should still work, otherwise, 911 calls would have serious locating issues.

However there is a note about data:

Verizon/Sprint, no data while on call.

At&t/T-mobile, data works while on a call.
