Bluetooth pairing IPh5 & Mac Mini

I need a straight answer and cannot find one. Can you bluetooth pair an iPhone 5 and Mac Mini running latest Mavericks? Each time I try and pair the Mac gives me a pairing code that also appears on my iPhone but when I click pair on phone it always connects on Mac then disconnects.

Forum searches here have not produced a straight answer. It seems to me as if it simply cannot be done.

Can someone please clarify.
