Dual link DVI resolution

I'm using a mid 2012 Macpro and want to connect two identical Dell 2713HM monitors. The monitors have a resolution of 2560 x 1440. I only have one DVI port. I've already tried using the one DVI to one screen and the mini display/DVI adapter to the second screen. However, I've just found out that I can't get higher than 1920 x 1080 with the mini display. If I get a dual link DVI, will this allow me to get a higher resolution out of both screens?
