Sound problems ios 7.1.2 update

I am experiencing sound distortion after installing ios 7.1.2. Sound distortion is somewhat subtle--slightly out of tune not clear. Evident in music and ringer tone. Audible via headphones and also speaker. IPhone 5. Ios 7.1.2 installed July 10, 2014. Have tried fixes mentioned in other posts mentioning similar type of problem in prior updates: turning on/off mono, hard reset. Have tried also tried different EQ modes and turn off/on sound check. Seems likely that update affected sound processing modules and would need a new fix/update.
