Recovering photos from photostream

I Accidentally deleted photostream photos from my ipad 2 and would like to recover them. I tried restoring to my backup but they did not appear. Any other ways I can get them back?

Not from the iPad. Do you use a computer with your iPad? Photo Stream photos will download automatically to your computer if it was setup properly.

How many photos are stored in My Photo Stream on my devices and computers?

iCloud pushes all your photos to the My Photo Stream album on your devices and computers, and manages them efficiently, so you don’t run out of storage space.

Your iOS devices keep a rolling collection of your last 1000 photos in the My Photo Stream album. From there, you can browse your recent photos or move the ones you like to your Camera Roll or another album to keep them on your device forever.

Because your Mac and PC have more storage than your iOS devices, you can choose to download all of your My Photo Stream photos automatically.

  • In iPhoto or Aperture preferences on your Mac, select Photos (or Photo Stream) > My Photo Stream > Automatic Import. All of your photo stream photos will import into your Events, Projects, Photos, Faces, and Places folders in iPhoto or Aperture.
  • On your PC with My Photo Stream on in the Control Panel, all of your photos will import into
    C:\\Users\<user name>\Pictures\iCloud Photos\My Photo Stream
. If you're using iCloud Control Panel 2.1 to 2.1.3, the path is
    C:\\Users\<user name>\Pictures\Photo Stream\My Photo Stream
    .

Due to storage limitations, your Apple TV might display only your most recent photos.

Hello,

I have experienced a similar issue and the following steps are what I did to recover deleted photos from iPad.

Normally all photos from iPad correctly push to photostream and it works.

But on a recent travel the photostream pushing seemed "spotty" and some random pictures taken with iPad were/are not pushed to photostream. On the destination there was a (slow) wifi connection, might have something to do with it - but even after getting home to my faster wifi connection the remaining photos in my camera roll are still not pushed to photostream from the iPad.

The missing photos not being pushed from the iPad to photostream are random in timeline ("spotty" pushing).

Any ideas on why this happens?

I guess after connecting the iPad to my Mac the entire camera roll will load into iPhoto, and iPhoto on Mac will do the remaining "pushing" to photostream; will have to wait and see with the help of iPad Data Recovery.

But this issue purely is about incomplete pushing from iPad camera roll to photostream.
