App Store not working on IMac has red 1

The window for the store is empty and never loads.

Quit the app and restart your Mac. Sign into your account in the Store menu.


The red 1 means that a Mac App Store app on your Mac has an update available for download in the Updates pane.

1. If you haven't already done so since this started, log out and log back in, or restart the computer. Then try again.

2. Otherwise, if you're using "LittleSnitch" or any similar third-party software that blocks outgoing network connections, remove or disable it according to the developer's instructions and test.

3. If possible, connect to a different network and test.

4. There are reports that resetting the PRAM may solve the problem in some cases. I can't confirm.
