Ipod 5 touch network problems

Hi!

I am having some issues with my IPod 5 connecting to the WIFI. I am starting to see that when I go really, really close to the internet wireless router, it starts working fine but when I'm away, even if I'm a little far from it, it will not work. It will say "Unable to connect to the network "then my internet name." I am getting really frustrated with this and I want a way to fix this. I know that my internet is working fine because I have a laptop, computer, and a previous gen (ipod 4) and it worked fine. So I'm guessing it's the IPod 5's network problem.
