restoring and retrieving old documents

After restoring my iphone 4 today i have tried to retrieve back my whatsapp conversations which (i think) have been saved in icloud. Under the 'manage storage' button it displays documents and data - whats app - as having 168.4 kb - would this be conversations?

However when i open whatsapp which offers the option to restore to a previously saved back up, none exists. If my conversations and data are saved somewhere in icloud is there anyway to access them from the manage storage?

Sorry if this is very badly worded, very confused at the moment.
