movie size help

Hello, I need some help. I have exhausted all my efforts at finding a solution. I made a movie using Final Cut Pro. It includes clips from a mp4 GoPro file and a mpeg2 codec MOV file from my JVC HM100 camera. Movie is saved at H264 and 1920 x 1080. Both cameras are shooting this size, but my movie comes out with a huge border on all sides. The movie is here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cmVq8BhLwSA ANy idea on how to solve my problem? It's an HD movie and I want it to be without a black border. Thanks

What were your project settings?

Looks like, there was a crude mix of 'letterboxed pseudo wide-screen' + real 16:9 confusing the auto-settings 😁

Look, the first shot…

… is distorted.. ok, there are 'big' people, but not that XL-size.. 😉

and the wheels of the bike in the background shows the real problem ..

solution:

copy all your clips into a new project, MANUALLY set to 16:9 and it should come out fine ..

the damage isn' t done on export/'save' but on set-up the Project

no need for re-edit:

In your actual Project select and copy the whole timeline (cmd-a/cmd-c), create a New Project with manual selected settings as mentioned before, apply material (cmd-v)....
