I have a couple of keys broken. Can I program the keyboard to type this keys?

Can you program keys to type a different character? Or is there a program out there that I can install that will do this? The reason I am asking is because I have a couple of keys broken. (OSX 7.4)

Is this an external keyboard or built in to a laptop?

If you are stuck use the keyboard viewer…

Open System Preferences > Keyboard.

Look for an option to 'show the input menu in the menubar'. Also enable the 'keyboard viewer' in the 'input sources' (if it's an option).

Once configured you can view the keyboard from the menu. That will allow you to click the mouse to enter key presses.
