the other day I changed my PW. Once I started to work with my MACMINI, I tried to upgrade the system which was automatically asking me. Then I typed my new PW, but the system not accepted it. What should I do?

Open System Preferences>Users & Groups, unlock the lock, click on the little plus icon, make a new admin account, log out & into the new account.
Does it work in the new account?
Did you sign out of the app store and then sign in with the new PW? That is required.
